PhD Student Interview with Ayla Alves

We had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Ayla Alves, one of the PhD student members of the ESCR Network AANZ.

Ayla started her doctoral studies at UNSW Law and Justice in 2019. Her research considers the regulation of cultural appropriation in international law, aiming at improving the level of protection that existing international legal frameworks afford Indigenous cultural heritage. Ayla is also a tutor and teaching fellow at UNSW Law and Justice, and a research assistant both at UTS and UNSW Sydney. She has recently started as Lecturer in Law at the University of South Australia.
